Doctor Who 50th anniversary show to feature David Tennant?
With the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who just around the corner, rumors have been flying about whether or not any of the previous Doctors will be part of the anniversary show. Colin Baker just said that nobody has gotten a phone call about it yet (what’s the first rule of The Doctor?), but now bleedingcool.com has gotten word that in fact, David Tennant will be involved.
“Yes. David Tennant will be back in time for the Doctor Who anniversary. Be prepared to be surprised…”
This comes from a supposed “solid source”, but we all know that sources, no matter how solid or in what field, can sometimes be wrong.
Brendon Connelly, who wrote the article, stated that it’s not very “Moffat-y” that this would happen, and I would have to partially agree with that since very little of the pre-Series 5 Whoniverse has come into the show ever since Moffat took the reins. Still, this is a huge point not just in the world of Doctor Who, but in television, and it would make sense to do something for the fans. If it does come true, it’ll be….fantastic!
We’ll keep an eye on this and other rumors as they come about. Don’t forget, Doctor Who turns 49 on Nov. 23.
